The fair price
Supply and demand determine price. We have known this since Adam Smith published his epoch-making work An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations in 1776. But there was also a time when prices were not determined by the market, but by a vague sense of what might be fair and God's will. This exhibition takes us into a world where questions of a fair market were a daily topic in politics.
